What do you like to do? If history is your thing, Nova Scotia is home to Fortress Louisbourg, North America’s largest historical reconstruction, which recreates one of the continent’s largest cities, circa 1742. In the Annapolis Valley sits the quiet habitation of Port Royal, founded in 1605, marking Europe’s formal colonizing of Canada. And that’s just a couple of choices from dozens of historical sites.

If you’re a gourmet, then why not plan a culinary tour of Nova Scotia? While Halifax, eastern Canada’s largest city, boasts many fine restaurants, they hardly hold a monopoly on good taste. We’d be happy to direct you to our favorite restaurants in many lovely small towns throughout the province, so you have the chance to explore. It’s possible to eat very well, with restaurants that run the gamut, from fun and funky, to elegant and refined.

If you love things artistic, you’ll love Nova Scotia. There is a depth and vibrancy to the colors here that attracts artists and artisans, and it inspires their artwork. It’s a source of pride to us how many talented people call Nova Scotia home. The A Gathering of Artists site hints at the diversity. We have many festivals and markets running throughout the summer and fall, including October’s annual Studio Rally, a province-wide open house featuring many of the region’s most talented people. We’d be happy to send you information so you can plan an artistic getaway that will amaze you.

If you live to golf, rest assured that we have a bevy of fine courses that are both beautiful and challenging—courses that have been rated highly by Golf Digest, GOLF Magazine and ScoreGolf. You’ll be able to putt around ‘til your heart is content.

If you love active vacations, Nova Scotia will be a serendipitous place to call home for a week or two. We offer bike tours throughout Nova Scotia through our sister company, Pedal and Sea Adventures. We can point you to some great adventure companies that will take you to the sea, in kayaks or in scuba gear, to explore the Atlantic Coast’s many notable wrecks. You might want to surf the waves at Laurencetown Beach.

If you love the great outdoors, Nova Scotia will delight your senses. That might include a trek to Kejimikujak National Park, in the heart of the province, or along the hundreds of shared-use trails that line the coast and the province’s interior. Birders will marvel at the many species of birds that visit the province, or live here year round, including more than a thousand pairs of mating eagles. You should definitely cruise the Bay of Fundy in a chartered boat, to see minke, humpback, finback and northern right whales frolicking off our coast.

Best of all, this is just the beginning. We know that Nova Scotia is all of this and more. What do you want your trip to be?

Let us know, and we’ll help you plan a trip that will make all your wishes come true!
