Lake Como villa rentals: Il Pescatore

This very romantic apartment is situated in the heart of the village of Santa Maria Rezzonico, in the Lake Como region. Coming from the state road, and heading toward the centre of the village, the pebbled street narrows and descends to the lake through a path of alternating steps (no high heels!!).

The views of the lake and the mountains are simply stunning, framed by the stone walls of the village houses, and adorned with geranium pots. The atmosphere is peaceful and the beach is one of the lake’s most inviting. You can spend hours just reading or enjoying the sun, swimming in summer or just watching the fishermen ply their trade. For the more restless, windsurfing and watersports facilities are available in S. Maria Rezzonico and San Vito.

Il Pescatore is one of the traditional stone homes that surround the castle of Santa Maria Rezzonico. It is reached by descending a full 50 steps. It was recently renovated by a Milanese family. The accommodation is a compact and well-arranged on two floors, opening on two different levels to the path descending to the beach. The furnishing has been personalized with some antique furniture and very charming rustic pieces, making clever use of the available space. This is an ideal accommodation for a small family with children who will enjoy being very close to the beach and to water sports, or for two young couples.

Accommodation: (approx. 50 sqm)
From street level, entrance into:

Open living area with fireplace, cushioned sitting benches and armchair. Light comes through a large window overlooking the lake and the mountains across.
Opposite side are the dining area, furnished with dining table and the kitchen corner, well-equipped with appliances, cabinets and dishwasher.
Another large window looks to the Northeastern side of the lake.
The double bedroom is accessed from the living area; it contains two small closets and a double bed.
The bathroom with shower is at this level.

From the living room, through a spiral wooden staircase:

Access to the second bedroom downstairs, with two single bunker beds.
This room also has direct access from a second entrance door, a few steps down the street from the first one.

Access: From the main path, descending the lake, only on foot. It’s possible to unload the car in the nearby square, 200 m away . Beach is 20 m from the house. Car is necessary.

Distances: 120 km to Milano • 41 km to Como • 6 km to Menaggio (hydrofoils to Como, Bellagio, Varenna).
Airports: 95 km to Milano Malpensa • 17 km to Milano Linate.
