Just a ten minute walk from Cremia — in the heart of Lake Como, surrounded by a wonderful private garden and chestnut wood — Cremia Alta has recently been completely restored, and re-furnished (2001). Cremia itself is a peaceful old village of Roman origins that stands 100 metres (300 feet) above the lake with beautiful views of the Valtellina mountains. Just a few minutes drive from Santa Maria Rezzonico, and ten minutes from Menaggio and Gravedona, Cremia has many nature trails and country walks on the doorstep.

Set in an elevated position above Lake Como, the house enjoys breathtaking views of the water and surrounding landscape. It is a typical Larian country house, full of character, built on three levels, and is equipped with all modern comforts. With wooden beams, tiled floors and old stone walls, the interiors are pleasantly decorated in warm tones, and tastefully furnished with country pieces, to match the surroundings.

Ideal for either a family of up to 6 people, or for two separate groups, Cremia Alta is conveniently located for the region's main attractions. This fine home offers all the peace and tranquillity of a mountainous setting and an escape from the summer heat, with lovely outdoor areas equipped with berbecue, garden furniture and shaded by chestnut trees.

Ground floor: Living room with kitchen, opening to private grassy garden
Separate laundry room with water closet
First floor: Double bedroom, opening to small balcony and looking over the Alps and the lake.
Smaller room with sofa convertible into twins or a double bed (thick mattresses), opening to window.
Bathroom with shower.

Upper Apartment (50 sqm): sleeps 2

Independent studio with kitchenette, opening to window looking over the lake and to garden on the opposite side.

Access: The house is accessible via a private uphill driveway (250 metres long) leading off a winding and very narrow road (a small car is highly recommended).
Facilities: Heating, satellite TV, parking, BBQ, washing machine (in ground floor apartment) microwave (lower floor).
Services: English speaking manager on call. Maid service for two hours a week (Tuesday and Thursday) is included during high season. No midweek cleaning is included during low and mid-season. Extra maid hours can be booked upon request.
Distances: 5 min walk from Cremia; 5 km from Menaggio (shops, bank, post office, restaurants, ferries to Como, Bellagio ); 40 km to Como (shops, cafés, restaurants, banks, post office, railway station with connections to central Milan).
Airports: Milano Malpensa: 95 km; to Milano Linate: 130 km; to Bergamo Orio al Serio: 160 Km.
