Casa a Lago is so named because it is situated right on the lake shore in the picturesque village of Santa Maria Rezzonico, on the sunny west side of Lake Como. The west shore has a particularly mild climate and one of the prettiest promenades of the entire lake. Santa Maria Rezzonico is an antique hamlet built on a rock, nestled up against the stone, with winding cobbled streets descending to the beach, towered by a beautiful old castle dating back to the year 1000. At only 5 km from Menaggio and 30 km north of Como, Santa Maria Rezzonico is well situated for day trips by car or by ferry across to the opposite shore to the other small lakeside towns.

Casa a Lago is situated on three floors; two of which have balconies that open onto the lake. There are lovely views of Lake Como from every room. The property has recently been beautifully redecorated and furnished with stylish wooden furniture in natural colours, which contrasts well with the whitewashed walls. Shutters provide pleasant semi-shade if required. The middle level has six high windows – almost all looking on to the lake, several of which are French doors opening either onto the balcony or the patio.

In the basement there is a pleasant surprise - a small sauna!
The ground floor features a bright, kitchen-dining room with access to the terrace. From here stone steps lead down to the water where rock formations and pebbles decorate the shore. Here you can slip into the water to cool off— not just in the hot summer but perhaps also in winter after having a sauna inside.

Casa a Lago is an outstanding house with a well-appointed interior and a beautiful view of the water close by— a little lakeside gem! It consists of two independent apartments, a one-bedroom and the other with three; they can be rented separately or together for a party of 6 people. Please note that to reach the apartments one has to descend a stone staircase of 64 steps, which may be challenging for the less-than-agile.

Casa a Lago Main Accommodation: (approx. 110 sqm, sleeps 4 & 2)

• Dining kitchen with a painted wooden boat adorning the ceiling.
•The sitting area opens to a pretty and sunny stone patio. Here you can enjoy your dinner outside and the marvellous view of the lake and the surrounding mountains
• Bathroom with shower

Up a further set of steps:

• Twin bedroom (beds can be pushed together) with a raised area with two single beds (perfect for kids)

Top floor:

• Living room with balcony
• Double bedroom with window opening to lake and en suite bathroom with jacuzzi tub

Casa a Lago Annex (25 sqm; sleeps 2)

Private entrance into:

• Living room with kitchenette and double bedroom
• Bathroom with shower

Facilities: Heating, dishwasher, TV (Italy channels only); In the basement there are a laundry room and a sauna shared by the two apartments. The apartments also share a BBQ area with table, chairs and wonderful view of the lake.
Access: Leave the car at the top of and walk down through the narrow cobbled street and 65 steps to the house.
